Families

Hired by 750 families and counting

Every quote below comes from a family who found someone here and hired her themselves.

I had used two agencies before and never once spoke to a candidate before she turned up at my door. Here I read her history, called her last employer, and met her twice before deciding. That is the whole difference.
Reem A.Jumeirah, Dubai · hired a live-in nanny
We shortlisted five profiles on a Sunday night and had three video calls by the end of the week. The one we chose had already worked with a child the same age as our son.
Daniel and PriyaArabian Ranches, Dubai · hired a live-out nanny
I needed someone who had genuinely done night feeds. Being able to read where each candidate had worked, and for how long, saved me hours of guessing.
Fatima K.Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi · hired a newborn carer
What I appreciated most was how clear the site is about what it does and does not check. I knew exactly which documents to ask for myself.
Sara M.Al Nahda, Sharjah · hired a live-out maid
Contacting her took about a minute on my phone during a lunch break. She replied the same evening. For a working parent that convenience matters.
James O.Palm Jumeirah, Dubai · hired a live-in nanny
We wanted someone who speaks Arabic with the children at home. The language filter narrowed it down in seconds.
Huda R.Al Jimi, Al Ain · hired a live-in caregiver
Questions

The things people ask us most

If your question is not here, send it over and we will answer it the same working day.

Are the nannies verified?
We check identity documents, including the passport and Emirates ID copy on file, and record which references and certificates each candidate has given us. Other profile information comes from the candidate. As the employer, you are responsible for taking up references, confirming visa and medical status, and running any background checks. Our safe hiring checklist walks through each step.
Do I speak to the nanny directly?
Yes. Once an interview is confirmed, you speak with her directly. MyPoppin does not pass messages or negotiate terms between you; your family and the candidate agree on the arrangement together.
Can I interview more than one nanny?
Yes. You can save as many profiles as you like and request interviews with several candidates before choosing the right person for your family.
Who arranges the visa?
The sponsoring family arranges the visa under the UAE domestic worker rules. A transferable employment visa may make the process quicker than a new application. We can point you to a Tadbeer or typing centre, but we do not process visas.
How quickly can a nanny start?
It depends on her current visa and notice period. A candidate with a cancelled or visit visa may be able to start within two to three weeks. Someone finishing a contract may need to give a month of notice, and a visa transfer can add two to four weeks.
What happens if it does not work out?
You hire directly, so the employment agreement is between your family and the candidate. While your plan is active, you can return to the platform and interview other candidates.
Can nannies list themselves on the site?
Yes. Candidates can create a profile, add their work history and upload documents for free. We review profiles before they go live and remove listings that are no longer active.
What should I ask in the first interview?
Ask her to describe a typical day with a child the same age as yours, how she handles a difficult moment, and why she is leaving her current family. Ask for permission to speak with a previous employer as well.

Hiring a nanny, maid or babysitter in Dubai

Most families in the UAE start the search the same way: a message in a building group, a name passed on by a neighbour, or an agency that sends someone to the door without a conversation first. It works often enough, and it goes wrong often enough that the alternative is worth knowing about.

MyPoppin.com lists candidates so you can read about them before you commit to anything. Each profile carries her category, nationality, age, the emirate she lives in, her work history family by family, the languages she speaks and the documents she has given us. You choose who to meet.

Which category fits your household

  • Nanny. Hired for the children. Her day runs on their routine: feeds, naps, play, school runs, homework, bath and bed.
  • Maid. Childcare alongside the home. Cleaning, laundry, ironing and cooking, with time for the children built in.
  • Babysitter. Part time and after school. School collection, homework, activities and evening cover.
  • Governess. Teaching led care, usually for school age children. Reading, homework and languages kept alive at home.

What we check and what stays with you

We review every profile before it goes live, check the passport and Emirates ID copy on file, and record which references and certificates each candidate has submitted. We do not verify references, medical fitness or criminal records, and we do not process visas.

That part belongs to you as the employer: call her previous families, look at original documents rather than photocopies, confirm whether her visa can be transferred, complete the medical test, and put the terms in a signed contract before she starts. Our safe hiring checklist covers each step in order.

Hiring across the emirates

Candidates are listed in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Live-out candidates usually prefer families within a reasonable commute of where they already live, so filtering by area saves everyone time. Live-in candidates are more flexible on location.

How long the process takes

Most families book a first interview within two days of sending a request. From there, a candidate on a cancelled or visit visa can often start in two to three weeks. If she is finishing a contract elsewhere, allow a month of notice plus two to four weeks for the visa transfer.
